TMF introduced cage fish farming on Lake Bunyonyi to promote sustainable aquaculture, improve food security, and support local livelihoods. The initiative boosts fish supply, creates jobs for youth, and strengthens the local economy through environmentally responsible practices and community partnerships.
Skilling
Inspired by the late Professor Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile’s passion for skilling, our initiatives all have a skilling component designed to empower individuals with practical, market-relevant skills that drive both personal and community development.
We focus on equipping youth and underserved communities with hands-on abilities, professional knowledge, and the confidence to apply what they learn in real-world settings. Whether it’s through technical training, entrepreneurship support, or soft skills development, our goal is to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity.
By working closely with partners and local institutions, we ensure that our programs are sustainable, context-specific, and responsive to evolving social and economic needs. The Foundation not only facilitates access to training, but also supports ongoing mentorship, knowledge transfer, and capacity building to ensure long-term impact.
Through this work, the Foundation is helping build a future where more Ugandans have the knowledge, confidence, and ability to shape their own path and contribute to the development of their communities.
